Metabolomics is the large-scale study of the tiny molecules called metabolites. Metabolomics is a powerful diagnostic tool that provides a snapshot of an organism's metabolic state through systemic analysis of its metabolites. It refers to the systematic identification & quantification of small molecules of a biological system at a point in time. Metabolomics rests on the combination of analytical techniques .i.e. mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy for identifying the compounds and their quantities, coupled with mathematical or statistical modeling to identify significant peaks and troughs. Metabolomics provides the functional aspect of the complex biochemical processes that underlie individual’s health. The metabolic profile of an individual is composed of all the metabolites of chemical reactions and enzymatic transformations performed by the body ?to maintain life.  It is also being used to study the small molecule composition of foods and other biological systems. There are high expectations for the impressive range of applications in diagnostics and drug treatment & discovery and also in nutritional research, owing to its ability to analyze cellular events that are not detectable at the level of genomics or proteomics. 

Metabolites, which are small & highly abundant, are also extremely diverse chemically, and they also vary substantially in their molecular weight and solubility, making it difficult for a single analytical method to accurately measure all of the metabolites present in a sample. Sensitive and precise instrumentation is necessary for detecting all of the low-level metabolites in a sample, while sophisticated informatics helps to rapidly and accurately identify and quantify these metabolites.

Metabolism is central to phenotype, thus the study of an organism’s metabolic signatures can provide insight into their underlying biology. Owing to innovative developments in the field of informatics and analytical technologies, and the integration of the right biological approaches, it is possible to expand metabolomic analyses for understanding the systems-level effects of metabolites. There are numerous approaches generating metabolomics data. Some of the popular approaches include liquid or gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC/MS, GC/MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, & capillary electrophoresis (CE) chromatography mass spectrometry methods. Researchers across areas of life sciences are using metabolomics to answer key research questions. Metabolomics has proven to be incredibly valuable research tool, metabolomics studies also have unique challenges to consider.
Metabolomics is usually used as a tool in Bio-marker discovery for informed decision making. It is because of its advantage in terms of specificity and also sensitivity. 1. Metabolomics: A Powerful Tool in Systems Biology
Systems biology is the mathematical & computational modelling of the biological components, which include molecules, cells, organisms or entire species. Living systems are complex as well as dynamic, and their behaviour is very difficult to predict from properties of the individual parts. For studying all these, quantitative measures of the behaviour of groups of interacting components are used and also technologies such as genomics, bioinformatics, proteomics, mathematical and computational models are used for describing and predicting the dynamic behaviour. Metabolomics is the key technology for systems biology. 


2. Modern Analytical Platforms and Methodologies
Small-molecule i.e. metabolites have a vital role in biological systems and they represent attractive candidates for understanding the disease phenotypes. Metabolites represents diverse group of low-molecular-weight structures which include lipids, thiols, amino acids, peptides, nucleic acids, vitamins, organic acids and carbohydrates which makes global analysis a difficult task. The recent and rapid development in the range of analytical platforms, including GC, HPLC, UPLC, CE coupled with MS and NMR spectroscopy, enables separation, detection, characterization & quantification of such metabolites and related metabolic pathways. Owing to the complex nature of metabolome and also the diverse properties of metabolites, a single analytical platform cannot be applied to detect all the metabolites in any biological sample. The combined use of the modern instrumental analytical approaches has led to the ideal outcomes in the metabolomics field, and is even beneficial to increase the coverage metabolites detected that cannot be achieved by single-analysis techniques. Integrated platforms are frequently being used for providing sensitive and reliable detection of thousands of metabolites in the samples. Continuation of the development in these various analytical platforms will be incresing the use & integration of metabolomics into the field of systems biology as well. 


3. Cancer Therapeutics and Diagnostic Biomarkers:
In general Biomarkers, are factors that indicates disease state. Cancer is a complex metabolic disease that is developed through multiple stages of carcinogenesis process which involves multiple molecular pathway events which creates hurdle in diagnosis, prognosis & therapy. Due to complex nature of cancer, single marker is not enough. Moreover each cancer is different from others in terms of molecular profile, therefore cancer specific markers as well. Cancer markers can be classified based on detection techniques (imaging & non-imaging), properties (molecular, cellular etc.), and also utility (diagnosis, prognosis and therapy etc.). With the advent of latest –omics technologies number of candidate biomarkers are investigated which could be utilised in numerous ways for the betterment of patients health.


4. Metabolomic Pathway Analysis
Pathway is a series of reactions converting set of substrate into set of products within a living cell. It is important to assess the inherent network properties in a biochemical reaction network. A typical genome scale metabolic network contains one thousand reactions/ metabolites. Metabolic pathway analysis for large, complex metabolic networks is often leads to combinatorial explosion.

5. Metabolomics : In Health and Diseases
 Human health is the level of functional and metabolic efficiency of each individual. Personalised medicine is the ultimate customisation of healthcare & requires metabolomics for quick medical diagnosis for identifying disease. In healthcare, use of classical biochemical tests is for the measuremennt of individual metabolite concentrations for identifying disease states like blood-glucose level in the case of diabetes. Metabolomics is data intensive discipline and thus its workflow is characterized by extensive database use. The vast amount of metabolomic information produced using high-throughput techniques has necessitated an effective means of storage to organize, disseminate, and facilitate analysis and annotation. This need has driven the development of databases as a repository of metabolomic data being produced. Data housed in these databases covers the wide-spectrum of research being done in the metabolomic world from NMR spectra to metabolic pathway substrates and products. The work of individual labs & consortiums around the globe established independent databases containing accurate information on number of metabolites. They serve the primary purpose of organizing information on the huge catalogue of metabolites that are encountered in metabolism pathways.

8. Metabolomics Research & Modelling
Metabolomics is a powerful approach as metabolites concentration reflects the state of cells and also the biochemical activity. Metabolomics is the best representation of molecular phenotype. Nutrigenomics is the research focusing on identification & understanding of molecular-level interaction between dietry bioactives and nutrients with the genome. It is the research which is associated with idea of personalized nutrition based on the individual genotype for providing people with methods and tools for preventing disease and health promoting foods to match their lifestyles, cultures and genetics. It is a science still in its infancy and its contribution to public health in the next decade is thought to be major. Nutrigenetics is the science of how the whole body responds to food with help of systems biology research.

11. Metabolomic Syndrome
Metabolic syndrome is cluster of number of conditions such as increase in blood pressure, fat, blood sugar& also abnormal cholesterol levels which occur together resulting in the increased risk of heart disease, stroke & diabetes. Metabolic syndrome is also known as the syndrome X, insulin resistance syndrome, or even dysmetabolic syndrome. Environmental issues as low activity level, sedentary lifestyle & weight gain is also contributing to the risk of developing the metabolic syndrome. Preventing metabolic syndrome actually means leading a healthy lifestyle.


12. Metabolomics and Genomics
Metabolomics is an emerging technology that has demonstrated remarkable success in identification of biomarkers & mechanisms of chronic diseases. Integration of metabolomics, genetics & the other ‘omics’ platforms in systems biology approach holds potential for elucidating novel genetic markers. Genes gives rise to mRNA, Proteins are translated from mRNA which in turn proceed to carry out a myriad of functions in the cell, including the metabolism of small molecules. Genomics provides a complete overview of the complete set of genetic instructions provided by DNA, while transcriptomics on the other hand looks into gene expression patterns. Proteomics studies the dynamic protein products & their interactions and metabolomics is in addition an intermediate step in understanding the organism’s complete metabolism.

The emergence of environmental metabolomics has been the most significant developments in ecology & physiology, enabling study of interactions between organisms and their environment and assessing their function and health at the molecular level. Characterisation of interactions of organisms with their environment is Environmental metabolomics. The advantage of studying organism is for environment interactions, assessing organism function and health at the molecular level.

Metabolomics aims at the comprehensive qualitative and also the quantitative analysis of all the tiny molecules in a cell, tissue or organism in order to study the interplay in response to intrinsic and also the extrinsic factors. Terms and Conditions

Cancellation, Postponement and Transfer of Registration

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to metabolomics@alliledconferences.org

Cancellation Policy

If  Allied Academies cancels this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.

Postponement

If Allied Academies Ltd postpones an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Transfer of registration

All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization, if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to metabolomics@alliedconferences.org. Details must be included the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied Academies if the person is unable to attend one of conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 14 days of respective conference.
The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied Academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues cannot come under the consideration of cancellation policy of Allied Academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy:

If the registrant is unable to attend, and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund arrangements apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overheads, we had to keep Refund Policy is as following slabs-
  • Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund less $150 service Fee
  • Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 40% of payment Refund
  • Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

Accommodation Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies, and they generally apply when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. Please contact us as soon as possible, if you wish to cancel or amend your accommodation. Allied Academies Ltd will advise the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancelling or amending your booking, to ensure you are fully aware of any non-refundable deposits.
